Here At Last

It has been a whirlwind these last few months, preparing for Lance, his arrival, Christmas, New Years, and back to work..............one day I will sleep again, maybe.

Lancelott David Linton arrived 5 days over due and after almost 13 1/2 hours of labor on December 17, 2008 @ 7:23 p.m. He weighed in at 8lbs. 3oz., our largest baby thus far. He was over 1lb larger than either of the other two, and was 20in long.

To our surprise, and dare I say shock, he was born with a bilateral cleft lip and a cleft soft palate. It is a blessing he was as large as he was, we have since learned he will have 2 surgeries this upcoming year and possibly several throughout his young life to correct these features. His first being on March 30th to correct the cleft lip. Luckily his hard palate is intact and therefore not obstructing his eating ability to greatly. We do have to use special bottles and nipples but he eats like a champ and already weighs 9lbs. He needs to be at least 10lbs to have his surgery.

Johnathon and Elizibeth have been so great with him. They love him so much and are thrilled to have him out of my tummy. Elizibeth is so eager to assist in everything: feeding, changing, singing him to sleep, she is such a great little mommy. Johnathon will hold him while we fix the bottles and make sure he always has a binky nearby, I don't think he likes to see him cry.

I will update with new photos soon and keep everyone posted on the up coming surgeries. Take care for now.
