Still waiting

I just wanted to update everyone on the fact that we are still waiting for our 2nd little man to join our family. I was really hoping he would be here by now, but as the Dr. told me, just be patient and wait for nature to take her course. Does he know who he is talking to patience...me?!?!? I have not been known to have much lately and really the last two weeks of pregnancy is not the time to tell me to be patient and wait. I'm done already!

We have had a few really fun outings and I promise I will try and get the pictures posted soon.

Brooke I'm still working on the tags as well. I don't move as quickly these days.

If I don't get to it before Christmas you all know why and until then I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Finally!!!

I know, I know finally an update to the Linton blog! It has been a long time since I have actually updated, are you as shocked as I am? I want to warn you though that it's going to be lengthy and probably boring at times, but I hope you enjoy.

(Brooke J. I told you eventually I would update. It's just been a lot longer than anticipated, like I said reading is so much easier!)

Baby Update -
We have had 4 ultrasounds and finally on the forth and final we were able to get medical confirmation that we are expecting a BOY!!! With every other ultrasound the umbilical cord was in the way and this time we had a very clear view, the Dr. even gave us 98% that it's a boy. The needle test and my mom once again were correct, 3 for 3. This is a lovely picture (thanks Brooke) for all to see of me at 34 weeks. And no I don't need to be on bed rest during my last few weeks. Yes I was actually asked this question by a cashier at Harmon's.

Lancelott David Linton is expected to join our family on December 12, 2008 : ) : )

Birthday Time -
I can't believe it but my baby is now 4 years old!!!! My mom, dad, grandma and grandma's husband came down from Salt Lake to celebrate Johnathon's 4th birthday with us. His one and only request for the big day was to have a spider web cake. Well I did my best to make his wish come true. But what is a spider web without the spiders right? So we made a few little friends to go along with the cake.

I was told that I was the "bestest" mom ever, love that!!!!

Halloween -
This year we let the kids pick out their costumes. With about 5 choices each they both chose pirates. I was excited because I would have two little matching pirates and I had nothing to do with it. Aren't they so cute!!!

Girls weekend!

My mother-in-law, sister-in-laws and myself were out one night and found these hilarious masks at a gift shop, I can't believe how funny we all look! It was a blast trying them all on.

First time ice blocking, first attempt at curlers, helping dad, misc!

Quotes I've come across and love:

A REAL MOM

A real mom uses baby wipes to clean more than dirty bottoms.
A real mom uses her shirt sleeves as napkins and Kleenex.
A real mom allows others to see that she doesn't 'have it all together.'
A real mom picks her kids' noses.
A real mom puts dirty socks on her kids when the clean ones run out.
A real mom has moments when she wishes she wasn't a mom.
A real mom goes potty with an audience.
A real mom sometimes wears makeup, and when she does, her kids say, 'Wow! Mom, you look different!'
A real mom counts chasing a toddler around the house as exercise.
A real mom thinks that occasionally the television makes a wonderful babysitter!
A real mom sometimes feeds her kids cookies for breakfast.
A real mom makes mistakes on a daily basis but keeps on chugging along, trying to get better.
A real mom feeds her children lollipops (or just about anything) so she can complete a phone conversation.
A real mom realizes that she learns as much from her children as her children learn from her.
A real mom knows that childhood passes so quickly- but not quick enough some days.
A real mom needs other real moms.

I'm sure all of us moms have days like these, I'm also sure none of us would change them for anything! I love you Johnathon and Elizibeth!

*Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.
*Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.
*Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.
*Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck and I will buy you one if he comes by.
*Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.
*Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.
*Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.
*Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.
*Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.
*Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.
*Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.
*Just for this evening when I run my finger through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given. I will think about the mothers And fathers who are searching for their missing children, the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms, and mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore.
*And when I kiss you good night I will hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day...

It's finally happened!

I myself have never broken a bone or had to have stitches in my life. That being said, we took Elizibeth to the Insta Care yesterday to get 4 stitches in her left index finger. This is the first set for either child, cross our finger this is the last set. I did watch the Dr. put the stitches in, which is a feat in itself, but I also cried while holding her little body still during the whole thing.
How did she cut her finger you ask? Playing with Johnathon of course! He has a little tool set that includes a real hammer, tape measure, level you name it, it's in there, for a 3 year old! Cute as heck when he's helping Brian not so much as a toy. They were playing with the tape measure and it sliced her little finger right in the knuckle crease. Brian went upstairs to find her bleeding and screaming like crazy. I was at work so of course he called to let me know he was taking her and I left to meet them in the waiting room.
After two hours, numerous books read, more screaming, 2 nurses, Brian and myself holding her down, and the dirtiest little look any child could give a Dr. we were able to take her home. She was so exhausted from screaming she fell asleep as soon as she hit the couch. Johnathon was just happy to be back home and able to watch toons.

I know, I know

I haven't blogged for a while now and really need to get more on the ball. I promise to update with some fun pictures and updates soon.

Quick update, we are going to be getting our ultrasound done Thursday July 31st to find out if we are having a boy or girl. According to the needle test I will be having a boy. Brian is hoping for a girl just to prove the test wrong (it was right with the other two). I will let you know once we find out. Brooke I promise to post pictures of my ever expanding form as well.

Imagination

Oh to have the imagination of a child. Last night we pulled into the garage and Johnathon started talking about how the cave was so dark. I asked him what cave? "The one we just drove into in the jungle" How cute is that!!! We went into the house and he and Elizibeth continued to play "jungle" while climbing the waterfalls (stairs) they had to dodge the alligators and bugs flying around them.
*
If only life were so entertaining. I just sat there and watched for about ten minutes as they slowly climbed the stairs, sorry the waterfalls. I wish I had that imagination again. Being an adult we think we have to be "grown up" all the time. I think we need to use our imaginations more.

Water, Water and more Water

With the temps reaching 102 this weekend, we decided to go and play. We hit 2 different water parks, I recommend the one by Snow Canyon Middle School. The kids had so much fun they didn't want to leave. The only way we were able to get them into the car was to promise to go swimming when we got home. Luckily they fell asleep on the way home.

But Sunday was just as hot, so we went swimming. The water was cold at first, but once you were in you didn't want to get out. Izzi is a fish!!! She wouldn't let Brian hold her the entire time we were in the pool. If he came close she would just push off of him. Johnathon is still a little on the scared side, but he did get in and eventually swam around without help. The pool is a life saver in this heat!!!!!!!!!

What the heck!

I thought what the heck I can be a blooger too. This is the new/old way of keeping in touch, I can do that. Brooke was certain I would get hooked and start one of my own. She was right!
